Na Ikaika Wahine & Kane

Na Ikaika Wahine & Kane means "The Strong Women and Men."

The USASF defines All Star Cheerleading as "a competition sport that involves boys and girls performing a 2-minute and 30 second routine composed of tumbling, stunting, pyramids, dance, and cheer segments.  This routine is performed and scored against other competitive teams at various local, regional, national, and worldwide competitions.  The main difference between High School cheer and All Star cheer is that a High School cheerleading team's primary purpose is to support a local school's sports team and keep the crowd excited.  An All Star team performs purely for the challenge, thrill, and competition of the sport.  Other differences include All Star cheerleading seasons can be as much as a year long, All Star cheerleaders are not required to be from the same school or area, and in many cases the skill set required for All Stars is much more difficult."

Registration for the 2023-24 Season begins May 1st!

Lanakila

  • All Star Cheer Team

  • Open Division

  • Tryout based placements, level 3+ tumbling required

Our 2023-24 Open Team is "Lanakila", which means "Triumph, Victory, to Win, Beat, Overcome."  Lanakila's motto is, "I mua a loaʻa ka lei o ka lanakila" which means "Go forth and win the lei of victory."  When we look closer at this word we find that it also means to conquer and to outwit. Hawaiian warriors of old trained for battle. They went through physical rigor, but just as important was the mental and spiritual training and preparation. When Kamehameha came to Maui to fight the Battle of Kepaniwai, he didn't just bring with him brut and brawn, he was planful in his preparation and even strategic. He pushed the opposing forces in ways to surprise and to lanakila, conquer. So it is with us in life. We may have physical battles we must fight and this requires us to ho'oikaika (strengthen ourselves physically for the battle). There are times when we must fight battles using our intellect, being creative in our strategy and like Kamehameha, planful in our preparation. Just as the word lanakila has subtle differences in meaning, we can use different strategies, different approaches when we need to lanakila, be victorious in any of the battles we are facing.

Lanakila practices three times each week. Tuition is $110/month, plus the cost of our uniform, the shared cost of team choreography and professional music mixing, and individual competition fees.

Lanakila will travel within the Midwest states (WI, IL, MN, IN, KY) and to National bid events if bids are earned at qualifying events.

'Onipa'a

  • All Star Cheer Team

  • Senior Elite Division

  • Tryout based placements, level 3+ tumbling required.

Our 2023-24 Senior Team is "Onipa'a", which means "Immovable, Steadfast, Resolute."  The word 'Onipa'a can be split between the words "'oni" which means to shake or shift and "pa'a" which means affixed or set solid. When combined, the word 'Onipa'a means steadfast, set solid and immovable. We are like the 'opihi on the rocks that stays 'Onipa'a when the large waves crash upon her. The word 'Onipa'a was the motto of Queen Lili'u'okalani. Although her reign was cut short in 1893, she remains an enduring symbol of hope for the people of Hawai'i. 'Onipa'a was part of the queen's motto: "E 'onipa'a i ka 'imi na'auao" which can be interpreted as - Be steadfast in the seeking of knowledge. 'Onipa'a also calls this as their team motto, and strive to be lifelong learners of their sport.

'Onipa'a practices twice a week.  Tuition is $110/month, plus the cost of our uniform, the shared cost of team choreography and professional music mixing, and individual competition fees.
