What Michelle takes the greatest pleasure in as a coach is helping her athletes to grow and mature not just as an athlete, but also as empowered, kind, respectful, and hardworking leaders in their community.  She has two children, Nicholas and Meghan, a daughter-in-law Sarah, and four grandchildren, Wolfgang, Alice, Owen, and Gwendolyn.  Rounding out the 'ohana are chihuahua Sir Carson the Great and golden retriever Bear the Destroyer of all things Stuffed.

As a cancer survivor, family is what matters most to Michelle.  When she is not coaching or with her ‘ohana, she loves being outdoors on Lake Michigan as it reminds her of her childhood home in Hawai’i.
